Polyurethane-coated plates
Polyurethane coating is an excellent solution for sliding surfaces exposed to the continuous impact of material being processed.
In metal processing lines, for example, both products and processing waste are conveyed to collection areas via chutes and paths, creating friction that is often damaging to the surface of the finished product and creates undesirable noise also.
By using cast polyurethane, customized coatings can be created that reduce or solve these problems by placing an elastic layer between the parts, absorbing impact energy and significantly reducing noise levels.
Polyurethane offers superior rebound resilience to standard rubber, absorbing impact energy without returning it as vibration. It also combines high abrasion resistance, essential on surfaces continuously crossed by sharp metal materials, with good compatibility with oils and lubricants present in processing environments.
The casting process allows us to precisely replicate any geometry required by the client’s project: flat plates, stepped shapes, interlocking joints, or perimeter profiles for secure anchoring to the structure. The hardness of the compound is selected based on the weight and shape of the expected scrap, calibrating the elastic response of the coating to the specific application.
The plates operate under demanding conditions: continuous impact cycles, temperature variations related to the production environment and contact with sharp-edged abrasive materials. The polyurethane is designed to withstand these stresses over time, maintaining its mechanical characteristics without cracking or losing adhesion to the supporting structure.
We work from the client’s technical drawing, and if the application presents critical issues, we evaluate the most suitable formulation together before proceeding with production.
