Rubber-coated plates
In roll forming lines, cutting lines, and coil leveling systems, material grip during feed is a critical factor.
Insufficient grip on the contact plates causes strip slippage, misalignment, cutting defects, and unplanned machine downtime, with a direct impact on productivity and production scrap.
Grooved rubber-coated plates were developed precisely to eliminate this problem, ensuring a constant and reliable grip over the entire contact surface with the coil.
A surface with a diamond pattern texture engraved across the entire plate is a precise engineering choice, which provides:
- Multidirectional contact surface – the crossed grooves provide slip resistance both longitudinally and transversally, unlike parallel grooves which act on only one axis.
- Greater active grip area – the micro-edges of the diamonds increase the contact points and the actual friction with the sheet metal, even in the presence of oily or slightly oxidized surfaces.
- Self-cleaning surface – the channels of the pattern carry dust, processing residue, and oil away from the contact point, keeping the grip constant over time and reducing the need for maintenance.
- Uniform pressure distribution – the rhomboidal geometry avoids localized overload points, reducing uneven rubber wear and extending the service life of the plate.
The result is a more stable and repeatable coil feed, with less slippage even at high line speeds.
