Rubber-coated counter-pressure roller for winders
In plastic film production lines, the winding stage is one of the most delicate moments in the entire process. Ever-increasing film widths, constantly growing line speeds, and increasingly thinner films make controlling tension and contact between the film and the rollers critical. It is precisely at this stage that the rubber-coated counter-pressure roller plays a decisive role.
Designed to work in coupling with the winder roller, this roller accompanies the film during roll formation, ensuring constant and uniform contact across the entire width of the film. The result is a compact roll, free of folds, wrinkles, or the typical “star effect” that often appears at the edges when tension is not perfectly distributed.
The roller is made with a high-performance elastomeric coating, formulated to ensure:
- Uniform tension across the entire width of the film, even on thin or particularly delicate strips
- Excellent resilience and the ability to adapt to variations in material thickness
- High resistance to abrasion and wear, to maintain unchanged performance over time

- Smooth or grooved surface, depending on the application, to help release air trapped between the film and the roller
- Availability in an antistatic version, to limit electrostatic discharges that can cause unwanted attraction between the film and the roller
The hardness of the coating is selected according to the type of film, the thickness, and the line speed, to always ensure the right balance between grip, elasticity, and durability.
A correctly sized and coated counter-pressure roller is not a simple accessory component, but a key element for the quality of the finished product:
- it reduces production scrap due to winding defects;
- it allows working at higher speeds
- it extends the service life of the entire winding station,
- it adapts to different types of film and different machine configurations.
